Basic Consumer Guidelines for Using Kratom:

The guidelines below are guidelines created to of course protect consumer rights and also consumer responsibilities when consuming kratom. This guideline was published on November 30 2023 so that it can be a reference for us in consuming kratom and there are also several tips for getting kratom that has high credibility.
The American Kratom Association (“AKA”) encourages every kratom consumer to follow these basic consumer guidelines for kratom use:
1. It is prohibited to purchase or consume any kratom product that does not have a label that at least contains the following information:
A. numeric count (e.g., 30 capsules), or volume or weight in metric units and US Common Units of Measurement in the package;
B. include recommended serving sizes and servings per container or package;
C. include a list of the contents of the kratom product in the packaging, namely the amount of mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, including that 7-hydroxymitragynine does not exceed 2% of the total content in the product;
D. a statement regarding the major food allergens of the product ingredients is made on the label;
E. any warnings necessary for safe use of the product; And
F. name, and place of business of the product manufacturer, packager, or distributor that allows reporting of any adverse event.
2. Do not purchase or consume any kratom products that are marketed with any therapeutic claims, such as relieving pain, reducing feelings of anxiety or depression, relieving symptoms of a hangover from alcohol consumption, or helping you stop taking drugs, etc. is illegal for manufacturers to make, and such sellers should be avoided because these products may be adulterated with dangerous non-kratom substances.
3. Do not purchase or consume any kratom product that makes marketing claims that the product is “super concentrated” or similar claims that lead consumers to believe that the product will provide euphoria or a “high.”
4. Do not purchase or consume any kratom product that does not allow the consumer to obtain a certificate of analysis from an independent laboratory from the manufacturer indicating that the product meets FDA standards for microbial contaminants and disclosed alkaloid/metabolite content.
5. Do not purchase or consume any kratom products that are delivered in unprofessional packaging, such as zip-lock bags, or that do not have any labels on the packaging.
6. Do not purchase or consume any kratom plant material shipped directly from “farmers” in Southeast Asia unless you can verify that it has been tested by an independent laboratory to ensure it is free from microbial contamination at dangerous levels, namely: , salmonella, e-coli, heavy metals, etc.
General Consumer Guide:
– Consumers must consume kratom products responsibly. Follow label instructions and do not intentionally abuse kratom consumption guidelines.
– Consumers new to kratom should start with low serving sizes to find a level that works for them and then manage consumption from there. Kratom is known to have a “ceiling effect” and consuming more of it than possible will cause stomach upset. Consumers need to find a level of kratom use that works for them individually.
– Consumers should purchase kratom products from manufacturers who voluntarily commit to meeting minimum good manufacturing practices (GMP) and undergo independent laboratory testing for their products. There are hundreds of kratom manufacturers who fail to meet these important standards and put consumers at risk.
– Consumers, if they choose to consume kratom because of certain health conditions, they should consult a doctor. Always tell your doctor about kratom use at every visit.
– Consumers should be aware that kratom has effects on the body’s receptors, similar effects are also experienced with caffeine consumption, and may result in dependence on kratom. In some cases, excessive use of kratom requires professional help from a medical provider. Kratom should be used responsibly and according to label directions.
