Kratom has been marketed in the Czech Republic since at least 2010. The Kratom plant, Mitragyna speciosa is a tropical tree related to the coffee tree that grows in Southeast Asian countries. Fresh or dry leaves are consumed. The most common product is in powder form, which is sold as a green to dark green powder. It is consumed with water, tea or sweetened drinks. Kratom can also be purchased in tablet form and in liquid extract form.
It contains the alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydromitragynine, which are used for their effects in medicine to treat chronic pain. They are also used to treat withdrawal symptoms from opiate use. Mitragynine and 7-hydromitragynine are considered opioid receptor agonists. Thanks to these alkaloids, kratom is sold as a substitute for opium. In Southeast Asian countries, Kratom has been used to treat acute colitis, muscle aches, coughs, and diarrhea.
The future of kratom in the Czech Republic is considered to be fine, you don’t need to worry. National anti-drug coordinator Jindřich Vobořil is preparing regulations regarding the circulation of kratok in the Czech republic, it will not be consumed by minors, of course we as kratom lovers really support this regulation.
According to the info we gathered from several official media in the Czech Republic, this rule will probably come into force at least next year. This is a plan that must be prepared seriously, minors are very worried about consuming kratom irresponsibly.
